Ring Magnet Coatings

We provide the below nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni), black nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni-BlackNi), gold (Ni-Cu-Ni + Au), rubber and plastic coatings for our ring magnets. Our default coating is a 3-layer nickel-copper-nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni) plating to protect from moisture and corrosion, enhance durability and to give a nice smooth silver finish. What is a ring magnet?

A ring magnet is a round disc magnet or cylinder magnet with a hole in the center. Ring magnets are also sometimes called donut magnets, hollow cylinder magnets or tube magnets.

What are ring magnets used for?

Ring magnets are used for many applications such as speakers, motors, sensors, craft, hobby and DIY. Countersunk magnets with a screw hole are an easy way to attach magnets to many surfaces and magnetic clasps ring magnets are great for making accessories.

Can you provide thin walled ring magnets?

It depends. Since neodymium magnets are made of a powder pressed under intense heat, they are somewhat brittle and also cannot be machined into complex shapes. This limits how thin ring magnets can be. If you require ultra-thin walled ring magnets, splitting the ring into multiple arc segment magnets may be a good option in order to reduce brittleness and chance of breakage during assembly.
