This magnet is exactly the same as our D4X0 cylinder, only there is a small permanent dimple on the north pole end of the cylinder.  This cylinder magnet is an excellent and inexpensive option to identify the poles of other magnets.  For advice on how to identify the poles with this magnet, see our article: Which Pole is North?

This size is also available diametrically magnetized in Grade N52 as part number D4X0DIA-N52 and in Grade N42 without the dimple on the north end as part number D4X0.
